Request a Visit
We’d love to hear from you!
West Michigan Therapy Dogs, Inc. partners with medical, educational, senior residential facilities in the counties surrounding Grand Rapids, MI to provide therapy services to their clients. We customize each program to best fit the needs of the population each facility serves. This ensures the safety of our teams and those we serve and that each visit is a positive experience for all.
For those who serve children under the age of 18, written permission from the school administration as well as the building principal is necessary prior to team recruitment. While we do our best, not all requests can be filled due to the limited number of dogs and we appreciate your understanding. To expedite your request please respond to these questions:
WHAT IS PET THERAPY?
Pet therapy is a broad term that includes animal-assisted therapy (AAT) and other animal-assisted activities. AAT involves animals to help individuals, many with health problems, to cope or recover, whether it’s cancer, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and more. Animal-assisted activities are volunteer-based and meant to provide comfort and enjoyment to senior citizens, children, and others.
